I chose three completely different types of Google forms for this assignment. The first one was a simple four question math quiz. I used 4 questions from the district assessment and found similar graphics to go with each question. Using Google forms as a formative or summative assessment is something that I have not done before. I am looking forward to quick results to guide my next day’s lesson.
The next form that I created was a book sign out/sign in sheet using the Checkitout add-on. I always have students who want to take chapter books home to read, but I have never really found the right way to keep track. I have tried a paper sign out sheet and names on the board but neither are a systematic and simple way to keep track until now. I have posted this Google Form in the ‘About’ section in my Google Classroom for easy access for student use all year long. This add-on will forever change my organization in the classroom. I can see using this feature a lot. The last form that I created used the elimination add-on. We are reading a story called Stone Soup, so my student came up with a list of items that they wanted to bring to make our own Stone Soup this week. I can see how using this add-on is a great way to have students sign up for things in a timely and organized manner. I see how using Google forms can help organize data and get feedback from students. As I start to use different technology tools to help with reading comprehension I might consider asking my students what technology tool they believe helps them to learn the best. This will help to determine my next steps in my action research that might provide me with significant gains in my test results. It will also provide a list of different technology tools to use as resources for my project.

I agree with you that Google Forms make it easy to collect and analyze data and I can see the benefit not only in our classrooms but also with regards to our research and capstone project. I like the way you dove into the Google Forms and created three completely different ones. I like your idea about using checkitout ad-on for your classroom book checkout; I think that will prove to be quite useful for you and your students.

What a great way to keep track of students checking out chapter books! I have found google forms to be so versatile that I am able to create spreadsheets of information to help both myself and my students. I have been wanting to try the choice eliminator add on as well.

I've never thought of using Forms to help keep track of my books. Such a good idea. I think I will have to try that with my class. there are so many great add-ons that can help keep data. I know that Forms has really cut down the time that I spend of grading somethings. It is so worth the few minuets it take to create a Form.

I like the add on you talked about for organizing check in check out of books. That sounds very useful, I'm going to have to look into that so my students can use it too. I also looked into the eliminate it add on, but I used it as a parent teacher conference sign up sheet. But that add on can have countless potential for other sign ups.

I Love the idea of using Google forms as a book check in and check out system. I need to check out that add on too. I definitely need to be more organized and I can't wait to try some of these add-ons to make myself a little more organized. Thank you for sharing those add-ons.
